I’ve always thought of Macbeth as a very sparse and dark play, in the style of the extraordinary 1979 performance with Ian McKellen and Judi Dench that we saw at school. We’re about to watch it at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, in the beautiful sunshine.

@Cheri @maique It was brutal! We sat in the direct sun for 90 minutes. Two people in the audience fainted and were wheelchaired out. Plus constant aeroplanes and helicopters overhead. It may be authentic, but I think I prefer an indoor theatre.
