Had a great day out karting today at Lydd International Raceway with my dad, two of my uncles and a cousin. It was only my second time out with them so I was pretty pleased with my lap time of 44.5s compared to their 40.5s. The circuit was a little bit cheeky, though, when they scheduled a 30-minute private hire session in the middle of the day and then split up the rest of the sessions into three 10-minute slots for different classes of driver. They had already taken our money in the morning and the ‘pros’ only had three karts out on track during their slot! Still, it washed over us and we had a very enjoyable day.
