It&#8217;s great &#8211; it shows you exactly where stations are in relation to each other geographically &#8211; but isn&#8217;t exactly that useful.<\/p>\n<p>A little digging turned up <a href=\"http:\/\/rodcorp.typepad.com\/photos\/art_2003\/tube_walklines_final_lm.html\" title=\"Tube Map with walklines\">this beauty<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/rodcorp.typepad.com\/rodcorp\/\" title=\"rodcorp - art, architecture, books, maps; how teams and systems work; politics; mobile world\">rodcorp&#8217;s blog<\/a> which has taken the basic tube map and added dotted lines where it is quicker to walk between the stations &#8211; very handy for tourists, I presume, as they are renowned for <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100612063629\/http:\/\/solo2.abac.com:80\/themole\/tubefacts.html\" title=\"TubeFacts - see facts 6 and 7\">taking the tube between Covent Garden and Leicester Square<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The tube map actually has significance for Finchley &#8211; my home &#8211; as it&#8217;s creator, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Harry_Beck\" title=\"Harry Beck's entry at Wikipedia\">Harry Beck<\/a>,<br \/>\nHarry Beck, lived here and there is now <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20080905131828\/http:\/\/cheerleader.yoz.com\/archives\/000845.html\" title=\"Photo of Harry Beck&#039;s plaque at Finchley Central\">a plaque<\/a> dedicated to him at <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Finchley_Central_tube_station\" title=\"Finchley Central entry at Wikipedia\">Finchley Central<\/a> station.<\/p>\n<p>For those looking for something amusing to give to the passing tourist, try <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dareonline.org\/artwork\/patterson\/patterson2.html\" title=\"The Great Bear by Simon Patterson\">The Great Bear<\/a> or some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150717045217\/http:\/\/www.geofftech.co.uk\/tube\/sillymaps\/\" title=\"Silly tube maps\">silly maps<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><span hidden
