You finish your drink, screw the lid back on the bottle and throw it in the bin.  The trouble is that the bottles are incredibly strong when sealed and are very difficult to crush.  If you&#8217;re not recycling (and we haven&#8217;t been up until now as there isn&#8217;t a &#8216;plastic bank&#8217; near us by foot) then at least <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20060507214702\/http:\/\/www.reuze.co.uk:80\/plascan\/whycrush.htm\" title=\"Why crush cans and bottles?\">save some space in the landfill<\/a> by crushing the bottle before sealing it up again!<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<a href=\"https:\/\/andrewdoran.uk\/blog\/2004\/10\/06\/crush-those-bottles\/\" rel=\"bookmark\" title=\"Permalink to Crush those bottles!\"><div class='e-content p-summary'>It&#8217;s a difficult habit to get out of.
