Dancing Lady and Flying Down To Rio (both 1933) seemed racier than other Astaire pictures that I’ve seen. (E.g. “What have these South Americans got below the equator that we haven’t?“) Today I learned about ‘the Code’ which applied from 1934 onwards.
@adoran2 Yes, it definitely made a difference in the films. The Thin Man was made pre-Code, and it’s definitely a lot more fun than the later entries in the series.
